Linda Jay, M.Ed.

Professor Emerita, North Island College

Linda is a retired college instructor with extensive experience working in rural communities on Vancouver Island. Linda holds a Diploma in Public Sector Management from the University of Victoria, a Bachelor of Commerce, from the University of Saskatchewan, and a Master of Education in Administrative Leadership, from Simon Fraser University.

Linda started her career as a distance education tutor culminating in more than 30 years at North Island College, a comprehensive community college dedicated to strengthening life on North Vancouver Island through the power of education. During her tenure at North Island, Linda was instrumental in administering and establishing learning centres in addition to developing and designing business curricula.

Linda’s broad experience and diverse background include degrees in education and public administration, plus experience with governance and leadership through her extensive work in community development and local government. Linda’s research interest extends to community development, cooperatives and the development of nonprofit case studies as teaching tools.

Linda joined the Board in 2024, is a member of the Executive Committee, serving as Board Secretary and is a member of the Conference committee.
