ANSER-ARES is a non-profit association governed democratically by an executive committee elected at its annual conference by the membership. It is a Canadian association for individuals who have an interest in research that pertains broadly to nonprofit organizations and the social economy. ANSER-ARES creates a space for scholars, researchers and practitioners to collaborate, build community, share research and build a network to support the development and dissemination of knowledge related to the nonprofit and social economy sectors. Membership is open to anyone who wishes to join, who supports our mission and values.

Entitlement to appear in the membership directory and the opportunity to network with active researchers.
A vote at our annual general meeting which hears ideas from members about important directions for the organization and selects governing volunteers.
Eligibility to stand for election to the board of directors.

Tier 1 — $50 CAD
For students, community partners, retirees, and individuals precariously employed who are paying fees personally without institutional support.
Tier 2 — $100 CAD
For post-docs, early career or tenure-track faculty, sessional instructors, public sector staff, nonprofit professionals, or individuals with limited or partial funding support.
Tier 3 — $150 CAD
For tenured faculty, senior researchers, consultants, and individuals with access to institutional or professional development funding. Tier 3 memberships help subsidize Tier 1.
